Story
We are Boba Origin - inventors of unique Boba merchandise and foods at bobaorigin.com. We noticed when working out, why there aren't much Asian flavors out there for protein powders? We were sick of boring flavors -- vanilla, chocolate? Yuck!
We turned to our favorite boba shops for inspiration, but boba shops are just overloaded with sugar and carbohydrates and aren't good for post-workouts.
So we took matters into our own hands -- create the healthiest, best, and most important - TASTIEST milk tea protein out there, and we've done just that. Since August of 2020, we've experimented with hundreds of recipes, gathered the best black teas, taro, and matcha powders from around the world, taste-tested every single combination with precise measurements until we got the perfect taste we were looking for -- just like the boba shops but without any sugars and low carbohydrates.
We are introducing our 3 most popular flavors for now: Brown-Sugar MIlk Tea, Taro Milk Tea, and Matcha Milk Tea.
WHAT'S INSIDE?
1) Whey Protein Isolate:
Our whey protein isolate is from happy cows in the pastures of Wisconsin. It's, of course, a great source of pure protein, providing all nine essential amino acids with limited amounts of carbs and fats
2) 100% Pure Grounded Quality Tea Ingredients:
Our Brown-Sugar Milk Tea uses a blend of Assam and Ceylon black tea leaves from among the best tea farms in China. Our Taro is also from one the best taro-producers in China. Our matcha is directly from Kagoshima, Japan and we use one of the highest grades of matcha: ceremonial-grade.
3) Coconut Collagen Creamer:
Our organic coconut milk powder gives a tiny bit more of fat to give that extra creaminess. Coconut is also an excellent source of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), making it great for energy production. The collagen peptides (bovine) supports healthy hair, skin, nails, and joints!
4) 0-calorie sweetener: SUCRALOSE
WHY SUCRALOSE THOUGH? We tasted tested the most popular 0 calorie sweeteners on the market: sucralose, stevia, and monk fruit. Simply put, sucralose tastes the best by far and it has been approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for use in 15 food categories in 1998 and for use as a general-purpose sweetener for foods in 1999. Sucralose has been extensively studied and more than 110 safety studies were reviewed by FDA in approving the use of sucralose as a general-purpose sweetener for food!
Stevia and monk fruit tasted weird --- had a funky aftertaste which we despised. In our taste trials, we even mix-n-matched 0 calorie sweeteners: stevia and monk fruit? Super funk aftertaste.
We wanted to create the BEST tasting milk tea proteins PERIOD without all the calories, sugars, and carbs, and sucralose made it possible.
